Agar-agar is purely vegetarian and it is plant-based gelatine derived from seaweed. It is also can be used in gluten-free recipes as a thickener and very nutritious. It can be used in desserts and other cooking without altering the taste or smell. Agar strips can be converted into a gel by boiling in hot water until dissolved (25 grams of agar strips for every 3 Litres of liquid), allow it to cool afterwards and it will become a gel.
